ROAD TRIPS IN AMERICA - EXPLORING HIDDEN AMERICA

Living in America is all about cruising down the highway -- wind in our hair, not a care in the world, in search of adventure.  It's about cross country road trips, small town festivals, and route 66 roadside diners.  It's about veering off the Interstate and ducking into an old fashioned diner to collect our thoughts and savor a strong cup of Joe.  It's about discovering those hidden gems of Americana that you stumble upon while off the beaten path and beyond the Interstate.  It's about discovering online resources like Hidden America where you can uncover those things hidden unless you're traveling on the backroads of America.

It's about online guides like My Guide to the Backroads of America, where you can tap into all kinds of road trip ideas that can help you find the best ways to travel America.  It's about rediscovering small town America and unique places to live that bring out the kid in each of us.  It's about songs that bring out the kid in us, that take us back to our youth, such as those by the iconic Grammy-Winning rock group, AMERICA, whose timeless hits include Horse With No Name, Sister Golden Hair, and others.

DISCOVERING LOST ART IN AMERICA ON THE BACKROADS

When you veer off the busy Interstate onto the backroads (whether on bike or car or foot), you'll find yourself on a journey of discovery.  You'll find a wood carver who can bring those Norman Rockwell illustrations to life and very likely put a smile on your face.  It's on the backroads that you'll find yourself kicking back and listening to some of the best bluegrass and jazz you've ever heard, where you'll fall in love with Navaho pottery, beautiful mosaics and the precision artistry of a master craftsman making dulcimers.  This is art in America.  And nothing captures and reviews Art in America like Art in America Magazine, the illustrated monthly publications that has been published since 1913, according to Wikipedia.

MY GUIDE TO THE BACKROADS OF AMERICA

Tirelessly, our Digital Divas (and Dudes) search roadside America for interesting faces and places.  Artists, photographers, musicians, chefs, sculptors, carvers, craftspeople and humanitarians ... people who we know will inspire you.

Whether it's a ranch in some secluded part of America.  Or a small town that barely registers on the map.  Or the largest barn in Kansas.  We explore the most remote corners of America, its small towns, its diners, its people.  One cool discovery we stumbled across was a blog titled "Healthy Dairyland" ... what a cool site! ... it's all about finding ways to living healthy ...

PLACES TO LIVEPLACES TO VISIT PLACES TO TRAVEL.

My grandmother taught me that you start dyin' when you stop livin'.  She believed that the best place to raise a child is a place where a kid could run free and be a kid, laughing and playing and learning.

My Guide to the Backroads of America believes that all of us our kids at heart longing for adventure, looking for great places to explore, great places to visit and great places to live.  So, if you're ready to hit the road with the wind in your hair (or would rather us do the exploring for you), our Guide is ready to take you off-the-beaten path to some really cool places and introduce you to some amazing talent on the Backroads of America
